COCOA, FLORIDA – The United Soccer Leagues Super Y League National ODP Camp was a succesful event for Two South Jersey Barons members. Glenroy Chapman and Kevin Davis were both selected to the 22 member ’91 ODP Natoinal Selct Team by the National Coaching Staff. The 22 man roster was selected from 160 players.
The SYL ODP Team was selected over a Four day period during which players showcased thier skills in training sessions, and games. The top players from the first Four days were then selected to play in the All-Star Select game, this gave the players the opportunity to catch the eye of the National Staff. The National staff then narrowed down their selections from 36 to 22 players. The ’91 National Select Team is shown below.
Glenroy and Kevin were both selected as defenders and will have the opportunity to travel with the team on a trip to Europe during the summer. The players names are also submitted to the US National team Staff.
The next SYL ODP camp will be held from January 24th - 27th at the Cocoa Expo center, this time it will be the turn on the ’89, ’90 and 91 Girls. The Banshees will be represented by Lindsay Garbowski (Eastern H.S.), Kaitlin Harris (Seneca H.S.), Dana Jarrow (Winslow H.S.), Alyssa Kelly (Seneca H.S.), Katelyn Mcfadden (Holy Spirit H.S.), Colleen McGroarty (Mainland H.S.), Jessica Faford (Cherry Hill West H.S.) and Nicole Kuhar (Holy Spirit H.S.).
