March 07, 2010 - The South Jersey Elite Barons held tryouts for their 2010 summer teams and had a record attendance. It was quite obvious that the excitement over the clubs merger with South Jersey Elite has caught the interest of soccer enthusiast in the region. Between existing players within both clubs and the excellent turnout of kids from various other local clubs, the new South Jersey Elite Barons are positioned to field extremely competitive teams this coming summer and beyond.
Also, and even more exciting was the amount of small sided team players that came out. Never before did we see so many U-8, U-9 and U-10 players at a tryout. These kids are the future of the club and the mere fact that we saw so many come out was very encouraging. Don D’Ambra of the Philadelphia Kixx and founder of the South Jersey Elite Soccer Club was on hand to personally work with the young kids creating a great atmosphere for all of them to enjoy.
The tryout process was overseen by Director of Coaching Cliff Simmons and Technical Director Scott Middlemass who personally were on hand to evaluate the players. At this time there is no additional need for further tryouts. There are some very limited spaces on teams available. To determine if there is a spot for your young players you may do so by emailing the individual team coach who will invite you to a regular practice to be evaluated.
